Faux Finishes

Faux finishes include cabinet glazing, ragging, marbelizing, wood texture, stucco and fresco-like textured as well as simple trowel work. Textured surfaces are great for hiding uneven wall surfaces or high traveled area wear and tear and can make a home very warm and inviting.

For years along with murals, I have been doing faux finishes like ragging, aging  and marbelizing to accompany my work. I like to do them because the over all effect can be very dramatic. They are not hard but can be labor intensive. Yes, they are easy to learn and I even invite you to join in and show you how to do them in case your budget is tight.

Cabinet Glazing	Beautiful wooden embellishment can be made more effective with cabinet glazing.
Blue Weathered with Gold Accents Cabinet Reformation	This a kitchen cabinet painted black while the other cabinet remained taupe. The edges were glazed with red and flower embellishments were added to make this look like a piece of furniture.
